The LMS offers Tech Tuesday Presentations in the Media Center for teachers to attend.

The LMS annually attends the FAME conference in the Fall.

The LMS has presented twice. Two times as a librarian sharing tips and tricks to fellow elementary librarians. Two times as a part of the SSYRA Jr. Committee presentation.

Within the district group of Media Specialists, there is a small cadre that is referred to as the "Media Hive". This group serves as a sounding board for questions and concerns. The group meets regularly and also communicates via text and email.

The LMS serves as Team Leader to the Special Area team.

2024-2025 is the second time the LMS has served as a Mentor Teacher to another Special Area teacher.

The LMS previously served as a Mentor Teacher to the art teacher during her first year. 

This year, the LMS is serving as Mentor Teacher to our brand new music teacher.

Because Sabal Palm does not have a reading coach, the LMS is chair of the literacy committee.

The LMS and Assistant Principal of Curriculum work closely together to fulfill the role of Reading Coach.

In addition to being a cellist in the Big Bend Community Orchestra, the LMS is also Educational Outreach Chair.

The LMS runs an annual Young Artist Competition where local school children (elementary through high school) compete to play a movement of a concerto with the orchestra. 

The LMS reaches out to all local music teachers (within the school system and private teachers) to invite students to participate.

The winners in each age category (7-10; 11-14; 15-18) get the opportunity to play their concerto on stage in front of a live audience.
